-We always use it for meetings, quick chat during shifts. It is pretty easy to use, links are short and meetings are easily integrated into your calendar.
-It is quick to log in and just hop onto a meeting, no registrations needed.
-hand raising, emojis reactions, presentations(share screen) are really convenient for collaboration
-Links are easily accessible through e-mail confirmation too.
-I never encountered needing to contact their customer support team because I never experienced technical issues
-The background filters are pretty handy for business meetings, the other ones are pretty fun to use when you're just goofing around with friends. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
-the option to answer your attendance(whether you'll be attending the meeting or not) via email does not work, or if it does, the e-mail interface does not tell correctly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
First and foremost, Google Meet makes it much easier for people to connect and use, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or location. It had a significant impact, especially during the COVID era, where we frequently used this since and relied on this platform to continue studying, and move forward with our lives. Moreover, it serves as a valuable tool for accessing better opportunities, such as using it for interviews and participating in e-certificate trainings.
I highly recommend this to new users because it is definitely simple for them to schedule, join, and manage meetings directly through Gmail, as it offers easy implementation and seamless integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The disadvantages of Google Meet include having fewer engagement tools and features, such as the lack of breakout room customization—which I find very important for discussions involving smaller groups. It can be quite a hassle also if your Wi-Fi or internet connection is unstable, as it significantly affects both video and audio quality. Additionally, it is also frustrating because it lacks customer support during important meetings, where they do not give immediate and effective solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Google Meet stands out for its simplicity and seamless integration with other Google Workspace tools like Gmail, Calendar, and Drive. Scheduling and joining meetings is incredibly easy, especially for teams already using Google services. The clean interface, reliable performance, and no need to install extra software make it user-friendly even for non-tech-savvy participants. Features like live captions, noise cancellation, and screen sharing enhance productivity without complicating the user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Limited features in the free version and fewer customization options compared to competitors Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really like the application's interface, as with just one click you can access the camera, audio, recording, etc. Also, being part of Google, you don't need to create an extra account to access the application. You can log in just with my Google Gmail account, which makes it more convenient. Likewise, you don't need to download the application (although I have it on my phone and tablet) to access it, I access it through the web and the meetings flow excellently. That is why I usually use it to study with classmates, watch live videoconferences, and others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I don't like is that sometimes when using the app via the web and sharing the screen, it has a slightly slow response time, especially if I have many windows open on my computer, which sometimes makes the people speaking to me sound choppy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about Google Meet is its simplicity and seamless integration with the Google Workspace ecosystem. It makes scheduling and joining meetings effortless through Google Calendar, and the interface is clean and easy to use for all participants, regardless of technical expertise. Features like real-time captions, breakout rooms, and noise cancellation enhance the overall experience, especially in remote or hybrid work environments. I also appreciate the reliability of the platform — it performs well even with limited bandwidth, which is critical for maintaining smooth communication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One aspect I dislike about Google Meet is the limited control over advanced meeting settings compared to some other platforms. For example, host controls around participant management (like automatically muting all attendees or restricting screen sharing more granularly) could be more robust. Additionally, while the core features are solid, some interactive tools like whiteboarding, polls, or Q&A aren’t as intuitive or integrated as on other platforms, requiring users to rely on external add-ons or tools. I love the collaboration I have with Google meeting, my email, and my G-Calendar.
I also love the fact that I can record and transcribe my meetings and utilize Gemini to take notes and summarize meetings.
I also love the PPT functionality from the Google drive.
I use Google meets multiple times per day, and up to dozens of times per week. Def. a great tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike the fact that I am unable to link Google meets to Wrike, or the third party Project management tools we currently utilize. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Google Meet's simplicity and smooth interaction with other Google Workspace apps, like as Gmail and Google Calendar, are its finest features. Meeting scheduling and participation are really simple, and the platform functions flawlessly even when there are many users. It is perfect for both academic and professional use because of features like breakout rooms, screen sharing, and real-time captioning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
"One drawback of Google Meet is that it doesn't have as many sophisticated features as some other platforms, like bespoke layouts, virtual backgrounds, and comprehensive participant controls. Furthermore, there is no built-in waiting room option, which might be crucial for security in bigger meetings, and the internet speed can occasionally change due to instability. I dislike that Google Meet can sometimes struggle with connectivity issues, especially on slower internet connections. Additionally, its feature set can feel limited compared to other platforms that offer more advanced collaboration tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being a data scientist, coach, and content creator at the same time means that I have a truly varied daily routine. These aspects make Google Meet help a data scientist, coach, and content creator like me in my day to day tasks. The platform is simple and integrates with Google Workspace tools, which makes it my go to for virtual meetings.
My Favorite Features of Google Meet:
Easy to Use: Even on busy days, I can effortlessly schedule and join meetings at any time.
Reliable Performance: I can confidently say that I'm able to focus on the content of the meeting rather than worrying about any disconnections or dips in audio/video quality. This means that whenever I’m hosting coaching sessions or working with someone on a project, the connection is stable and the audio/video quality is top notch.
Screen Sharing: This feature is extremely important, as it allows the user to share their screen and helps make explaining complex concepts during coaching sessions or during data presentations a lot easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I didn't find any issues with the meeting features Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
