What is Locus?

Locus is a logistics optimization platform designed to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency across various industries, including retail and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG). Established in 2015 by Nishith Rastogi and Geet Garg, Locus has transitioned from its origins as a women's safety geo-tracking application to a comprehensive solution that addresses the complexities of modern logistics. The platform aims to provide businesses with the tools necessary to streamline their supply chain processes and improve overall fulfillment execution. Targeting retailers and logistics providers, Locus offers an end-to-end solution that facilitates seamless delivery from any location, whether it be a local store or international borders. The platform's patented routing and geocoding engines are designed to optimize every stage of the supply chain. By integrating captive, contracted, and carrier fleets across the first, middle, and final mile, Locus ensures that businesses can achieve cost efficiency while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Key features of Locus include precise geolocation capabilities, hybrid fleet management, and dynamic route optimization. These tools work together to enhance fulfillment accuracy, flexibility, and predictability, allowing retailers to navigate the complexities of logistics with greater ease. The platform provides complete shipment visibility, which eliminates uncertainty for retailers, fleet partners, and distributors, thus fostering a more transparent supply chain environment. Locus has gained the trust of leading global brands, including Unilever and Nestlé, executing over a billion deliveries across more than 30 countries. The company is committed to innovation and sustainable growth, continuously evolving its solutions to meet the demands of the logistics landscape. As artificial intelligence and automation play an increasingly significant role in the industry, Locus is poised to streamline operations from pre-purchase fulfillment to post-delivery support, transforming complex supply chains into strategic growth enablers for businesses worldwide.

Product Description

Locus - Route Optimization to Locus Dispatcher provides optimal delivery routes leveraging bleeding edge technologies such as Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence. The engine takes into account of on-ground factors (traffic, weather, road restrictions) & business constraints (SLAs).

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

Locus sets itself apart as a comprehensive logistics SaaS platform designed for seamless, multichannel retail fulfillment across all miles, modes, and channels. Unlike solutions that primarily focus on specific legs of the supply chain, Locus integrates first, middle, and last-mile logistics into a unified, intelligent ecosystem.

With a strong foundation in last-mile routing, Locus has evolved to support both captive and outsourced fleets, ensuring consistent performance and adaptability across delivery networks. By integrating all miles, legs, modes, and channels into a single intelligent ecosystem, Locus eliminates silos and optimizes fulfillment end to end.

By prioritizing fulfillment over procurement and leveraging automation, predictive intelligence, and cost optimization, Locus enables businesses to enhance efficiency, reduce operational complexity, and meet customer expectations with precision.

What do you like best about Locus?

We evaluated over 20 platforms for our 50+ vehicle fleet. We chose Locus based on:

Competitive pricing

Intuitive User Interface

Deep design supporting complex user requirements

Newer company which means less legacy issues and faster development

In hindsight, these all turned out to be accurate. Our biggest concern originally was support, as they are not a US based company. However, this has been a pleasant surprise. We meet regularly and they are very responsive. As will any company, they are obviously not perfect, but they do react to issues and listen to feedback which is all you can ask. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Locus?

We'd love a bit more documentation. Locus us a deep platform with a ton of functionality and options. However, it's sometimes hard to know what different settings do and how certain features work. They answer very quickly when a question arises, but sometimes it's good just to have to not always ask. Along these same lines, they add new functionality quite often (which is awesome) but sometimes we only know because we asked how to solve a problem. A bit more communication on new features would be great. But overall, this is a good problem to have vs. never getting new functionality, so we can live with it. What problems is Locus solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use Locus to manage our fleet deliveries and pickups each day. We had never did any type of automated optimization before and are still working to adapt that into our operation. The real time tracking of drivers and orders is excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Locus?

I like most about auto sorting in last-mile operations is how it reduces manual errors and accelerates the parcel flow, leading to faster deliveries and better customer satisfaction. It brings consistency to operations, improves resource utilization, and supports better scalability during high-demand periods—especially crucial in e-commerce-driven markets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Locus?

As there is no issue in the software but sometime some of the shipments false in wrong routes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Locus solving and how is that benefiting you?

Locus is helping us address key operational challenges by ensuring that each shipment is mapped to the most optimal delivery route. This not only enhances route efficiency but also contributes to timely deliveries and improved resource utilization.

Additionally, with the integration of auto sorting, the overall sorting time has been reduced by approximately 15 to 20 minutes per cycle. This significantly streamlines last-mile operations, minimizes manual intervention, and allows for quicker dispatches.

Overall, Locus is playing a crucial role in driving operational excellence by improving accuracy, reducing turnaround time, and enhancing delivery performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Locus?

What I like best about Locus is probably the support and how responsive the team is. Whenever we have an issue or a request, someone always gets back quickly and tries to help. Also, the platform itself is quite user-friendly, and it keeps improving over time, which shows they really listen to feedback. Overall, it feels like Locus is more of a partner than just a service provider. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Locus?

To be honest, there’s not much to complain about, but if I had to point something out, maybe sometimes the system updates or changes happen a bit suddenly, so it takes a bit of time for our team to get used to them. Also, once in a while, the response time for support can be a little slower during peak periods. But overall, it’s been a good experience and those issues aren’t deal-breakers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Locus solving and how is that benefiting you?

Locus helps us solve the problem of manual route planning, which used to take a lot of time and often wasn’t very efficient. Now with Locus, the system does most of the work — it plans the routes automatically based on real conditions, which saves us time and helps the riders work more smoothly. Also, being able to track deliveries in real time makes it easier to follow up with customers or fix issues quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Locus?

What I like best about Locus is how it balances automation and flexibility. The route optimization engine significantly reduces manual planning effort, while still allowing for real-world adjustments. On top of that, the real-time tracking and visibility into driver performance help improve both efficiency and accountability across the delivery process Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Locus?

Locus works well for structured planning, but in fast-changing situations, it could be more flexible. Sometimes it takes a few extra steps to make manual adjustments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Locus solving and how is that benefiting you?

Locus replaced manual, experience-based planning with automated, data-driven optimization. It saves time, cuts delivery costs, and gives us real-time visibility — all of which were difficult to achieve before Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are cases where orders are left unallocated although there seems to be very few breaches and vehicle utilization is not yet maximize.

Recommendations to others considering Locus:

We are using Locus Dispatcher to help planning the delivery routes for our Distributors.

It is actually helping them in dealing with dynamic demand, where orders might come from anywhere, on any day, rather than with a fixed and predictable calendar.
