Knack is easy to configure and use. It makes light work of the heavier loads. Forget the complexities of Excel. Knack does it better and much more. And I'm not using much more in the way that marketing professionals do. Knack can do much more than Excel when it comes to inventory and sales data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Knacks only short coming is the lack of some native integrations into pre-existing tables such as Sales and Products for Shopify as an example, but the API is easy to use so we've solved that problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used Knack to write two relatively complex database solutions. While I had to get used to some non-standard database terms (e.g. connection vs. join), I found it extremely easy to learn and use. The best thing about Knack is the support. Except for a brief span a couple of years ago, their responsiveness and helpfulness has been superb. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Knack does not have any developer tools that let you create a workable testbed and transfer code to the live app.
There is no way to filter or search for a particular page in Builder which is a problem when your app has over 100 pages. Likewise it does not let you group your pages easily or categorize them (e.g. Active, Retired, Pending, etc.). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The first differentiator with Knack was having the benefit of an Onboarding Expert who walks you through what to expect, what can be achieved and how to get started! Second, the availability of template apps that load in only minutes is phenomenal! That's a great way to get a solid lay of the land. Third, the platform itself is very intuitive. After planning a basic design on paper, you're able to build an app literally within a day! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some minor capabilities are not available, however, Knack offers generous resources and support for ways to create work arounds in these cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Knack is simple enough for about anyone to build very useful database apps. But at the same time, it is extremely robust allowing very high end functionality for users with a little more experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The somewhat limited ability to do better formatting and page layouts on detail reports and forms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I appreciate Knack's flexibility, power and user-friendliness for basic tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The flipside of its power is that there are many features we're not managing to use because of our own internal, technical limitations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the set price, regardless of users, this makes it easy for me to create an app without fear of the cost each month. Originally i had planned to use knack to create apps as proof of concept, before commiting to further development. I was pleasantly surprised that we actually don't need to develop some of the apps, as knack as many features that cover the needs i have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the table structure takes some thinking about, but nothing that can't be overcome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Simple and instuitive to use.
Definitely take some effort to learn, but the learning curve is not too steep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
New features can be slow to be implemented, however this has improved in the last couple of years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
