Best Procure to Pay Software

Nathan Calabrese
NC
Researched and written by Nathan Calabrese

Procure to pay software manages all procurement activities, from purchasing to vendor payments. This type of software helps companies streamline procurement operations and increase efficiency by using one centralized system instead of separate solutions. Procure to pay solutions are mostly used by procurement professionals but can also be leveraged by accountants to monitor invoices and payments. Suppliers may also use procure to pay software through online portals.

Procure to pay software is usually delivered as a mix of multiple solutions or as a standalone software suite. When not included in the product, procure to pay software needs to integrate with AP automation software and supplier relationship software. Integration with e-commerce platforms and supply chain suites is also essential.

To qualify for inclusion in the Procure to Pay category, a product must:

  • Consolidate procurement information from multiple data sources
  • Manage all or most operations that are part of the procurement cycle
  • Create and implement purchasing policies and best practices
  • Monitor financial transactions related to procurement
  • Define and manage procurement business processes

Learn More About Procure to Pay Software

Procure to Pay Software: Analyst Takeaways from G2’s Review Data

I’ve reviewed thousands of user feedback on Procure to Pay (P2P) platforms, and it's clear this software category is no longer a back-office nice-to-have. It’s a must! Procure-to-Pay software manages all procurement activities from purchasing goods and services to the final invoice payment. Procure-to-Pay software automates the procurement process by connecting accounts payable, buyers, vendors, contractors, and regulations all in one software. This automated process essentially helps reduce manual effort and potential errors.

Based on the G2 dataset of 1000s of reviews, these platforms are primarily adopted by finance, procurement, and other operational teams, especially in industries like Information Technology and Services, Financial Services, and Computer Software. Most companies that frequently use this type of software are mid-market and enterprise companies that handle large volumes of purchases and payments.

What I Often See in Procure-to-Pay Software Feedback

Pros: What Users Consistently Appreciate

  • Very user-friendly: Reviewers routinely highlight intuitive interfaces and easy navigation.

“As a user for almost a year or two, I find it very convenient and easy to use. Though there are changes from time to time, it is still understandable having new features cause I am using it everyday from time to time. What I love about it is that it takes our requests in a timely manner.” - Ian Dwight C., SAP Ariba Review

  • Real-time customization: Users appreciate being able to make on-the-fly changes without heavy IT involvement.

“Product is intuitive hence minimal training is sufficient, Customization is another plus.” - Abinandhanan S. SAP Ariba Review

  • Simple implementation: Many found the setup refreshingly straightforward, even non-technical teams managed implementation.

“I have been using Coups for alomst 3 years. It is very User friendly and simple to use. The way it is implemented is very User friendly and it can be integrated with other tools as well.” - Dilip D. Coupa Review

Cons: Where Many Platforms Fall Short

  • Lack of advanced features: Some tools have limited advanced features. When issues do arise, it's often a desire for deeper functionality compared to more mature tools.

“We have run into small 'nice to have' features that we wished were available in the program. After talking with our customer support rep and various software engineers, Procurify is working to add those features to help us meet our needs.” - Emily B. Procurify Review

  • Customization gaps: A few users mentioned delayed updates or outdated UIs.

“There are areas for improvement. Occasionally, the reimbursement tracking feels a bit slow when syncing with our financial systems, which can delay updates. That said, the customer support team has been responsive and helpful whenever we've faced issues.” - Muhammed W. Pluto Review

My Expert Takeaway on Procure-to-Pay Software in 2025

Digging deeper, I’ve found that companies that leverage Procure-to-Pay (P2P) platforms are not just using these tools to streamline the procurement process, but as a central hub to connect buyers, vendors, finance, and other additional teams involved in the procurement process. In addition, frequent users of these tools in IT and Financial Services report the greatest ROI when P2P software integrates cleanly with their ERP or finance stack.

I’ve found that the data supports user satisfaction: average star rating stands at 4.6, ease of use scores 6.4 out of 7, and likelihood to recommend hits a strong 9.3. Quality of support also trends high, averaging 6.4, suggesting that customer success is a differentiator for top vendors.

In short, if your team is looking to scale procurement efficiency, reduce AP bottlenecks, or improve auditability, a modern Procure-to-Pay system is almost non-negotiable. Based on the thousands of voices I’ve reviewed, the market is responding with platforms that are more usable, more supportive, and more impactful than ever.
