I am a very visual person so when I get a purchase order with a bunch of products spelled out - it is not helpful especially when I have to constantly circle back to those items. My memory of what each product looks like when dealing with several clients is slim to none but ConstructionOnline has made my life and my job so much easier because it takes 5 seconds to go to the product website and use the extension - then the next time I need to Quickly pull up that product, I have a picture with all of its information and our suppliers pricing which is so nice! Sometimes ConstructionOnline takes a long time to load, and I end up having to log out, close the window, and restart it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I appreciate most about ConstructionOnline is the wide range of features and organizational tools it offers. As a Service Manager, it’s essential for me to maintain accurate, detailed records—and the ability to upload specific logs and daily photos is incredibly valuable.
Working on the service side, I focus heavily on punch-list items. ConstructionOnline makes it easy to manage multiple homes at once, allowing me to efficiently track what has been completed and what still needs attention. It’s a powerful tool that supports both accountability and productivity in my role. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not have anything bad to say about ConstructionOnline. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I looked at and tested a lot of estimation in CRM programs, and I found the UDA construction online to be the most thorough and put together. The estimation program was very well, especially with the cost books and assemblies. The red line takeoff is versatile and also integrated. The support on phone or need to chat is fantastic and thorough and the folks there are very patient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the things I've been doing over the years is a specific type of range budget presentation for estimates to my client. Reports, although very good from UDA, don't work for me, and I have to export the budgeting report from UDA to a spreadsheet, and then build them into my custom forms. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of reports and information that can be pulled out of UDA, but we're just not using all of them. It also takes a while to build up to being able to use the entire program, and there's no downside from UDA. It's just a learning curve for us and our systems. I moved from UDA Construction Suite which tied me to the server back at the office which caused a delay while entering information or trying to print reports. Once I got used to the new user interface I could enter information faster. I am using Online daily and being able to log in anywhere allows me to help with questions even when not in my office. For me some of the functions I used in Construction Suite are not available in the online version. Having to find new ways to accomplish the same function took some time. But the support from the company helped navigate this issue. Our version of Construction Suite was too old to move projects to Online, this sounded worse than it turned out to be. UDA Construction Online is a very robust project managment software that takes the client from the initial contact all the way through the final project payment. The client and team portals are very easy to use and help keep the team informed and invloved throughout the project. From intitial client lead, creating an oppurtunity, estimating the project and generating the proposal to writing project change orders could not be any easier! Training a new PM in the UDA system is very easy with a very short learing curve. We have been using UDA since 2009 and UDA has continued to improve thier software to keep up with new features and our cleint needs. When you need customer service they are availalbe, very helpful and knowledgeable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We do not have many dislikes. The biggest dislike is keeping up to all the new features that get rolled out and reminding the staff to use them! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If you are in the construction industry, CO is a powerful software that will help you manage your projects with ease. it has unlimited users, you can create project schedules, estimates, take offs pos, and more. What i love most is the costbook part, where you can add all your product and services to create estimates Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like to see some improvement on the App, specially on the Redline feature , where you can makp up the plans Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
UDA helps me keep on budget with the Estimate and Schedule along with the Daily Logging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Had some issues with the App in the field but UDA seems to have done updates and there haven't been any other problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The customer support has been exceptional. Carli has been incredibly helpful, promptly addressing all of our questions and concerns.
Since we started using UDA CO, our project management has notably improved. The customer portal has played a significant role, and communication with our clients has become much more effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Interaction with Sage intact is not in place yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
UDA has some good things going with how the organize their cost items, groupings, etc. That component works well, as does the methodology of how they create and tabulate selections. I also like how you can include customized overhead / mark up calculations. The "to do" list functionality is pretty nice and allows you to add and track cost impacts. Beyond that, the graphics are ok, but very busy and way to much movement to naviagate efficiently. Our "coach" Win Chandler was incredible, very kind, very helpful, but unfortunately working within the confines of an antiquated system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
UDA is an extremely shallow program and by that I mean the following:
• Any successful contractor uses a numerical cost coding system. UDA does not. The word "cost code" does appear in their system, but it is useless as I was led to believe and believe me....I pushed against it hard.
• There is absolutely NO real method to track real, comitted cost because there is no Purchase Order system. Again, the word "purchase order" is visible in the program but dont let it fool you. It is just a .pdf generator that is basically useless once it is created. If you want this to be in Quick Books, you have to do double entry be cause it DOES NOT SYNC as you would reasonably expect.
• IMPORTANT: This programe is mainly driven by Quick Books. This is hugely impactful becuase Quick Books is NOT designed to be a construction managment software. THIS WILL CAUSE YOU AN ACCOUNTING DISASTER of epic proportions.
• Since the software is not driven by cost codes, the "linking" that is an OPTION and not even required, will absolutely wreck your job costing and forecasting.
• The client invoicing is an utter trainwreck. It is slow, it is extremely cumbersome, you cannot invoice for multiple change orders at one time and they have to be sent individually. This is massively irritating to our clients and it takes FOREVER.
• You are extremely limted on reporting. Yes, there ar bunches of "reports" but they are all just .pdf generators and essentially produce useless documents.
• After several months of absolute devotion to this program, our bookkeeper essentially gave us a "them or me" ultimatum
• We ran 6 jobs through it and included a "collaboration software" cost line for each of the jobs. Every single client asked for a refund on that cost and refused to use it after about 1/3 the way through the project.
• While we were using UDA (prior to switching), we loved the idea of their integration with Square Take Off. During our use, it did not integrate as advertised and we kept receiving notifications that "it is a known issue, we are working on it"
• It is atrociously expensive
• Despite our best efforts, there are no online user groups that we could become a part of for peer conversation
• The bid request component is absolutely useless
• This is just the start... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
