Best CPaaS software for startups?

Hello G2ers, I am investigating CPaaS software and the best fit for startups or SMBs, here's what I gathered so far:

If you're building a product that needs messaging, voice, or chat, there are some great CPaaS tools for small business, such as Telnyx, Dotdigital, and WATI, that won’t overwhelm your team or your budget. Here are a few more details that are solid picks for startups:

  • Telnyx: This one’s ideal if your team wants control over how communication is built into your product. Telnyx gives you APIs for voice, SMS, and fax with a self-service model that’s pretty startup-friendly. Good docs and competitive pricing too.
  • Dotdigital: Dotdigital leans more into the marketing automation side, but it does offer CPaaS features like SMS and push notifications. It’s a good fit if you want customer engagement and communications under one roof.
  • WATI: If your startup is working with WhatsApp for customer support or updates, WATI makes it easy. It’s built around the WhatsApp Business API and helps you automate and scale chats without needing a huge support team.
  • Vonage Communications APIs: Vonage offers APIs for voice, video, and messaging. It’s a good middle ground for teams that want global reach and reliable delivery, without needing enterprise-level contracts.
  • Twilio: Probably the most well-known CPaaS option out there. Twilio has APIs for everything, and the docs and community support are top-notch. It can get expensive as you grow, but it’s a great place to start if you want flexibility and proven reliability.

These platforms are all good choices depending on your startup's goals. Some are more dev-focused, others lean toward marketing or support use cases, but all are worth a look if you want to add communications to your stack without overcomplicating things. Any feedback on this?

As a note, I would evaluate your startup's technical resources, compliance needs, and existing communication channels before picking the best CPaaS for you or your company.
